Center Valley, PA (October 13, 2022) - The DeSales University men's soccer team settled for a 1-1 tie with Arcadia University in a rain soaked MAC Freedom game on Thursday afternoon.

The Basics

• Final Score: DeSales - 1, Arcadia - 1
• Records: DeSales (5-6-2, 0-3-1 MAC Freedom); Arcadia (6-4-4, 0-2-1 MAC Freedom)
• The ties moves the all-time record between the two teams to 11-10-2.

How it Happened

• The entire game was played in a driving rain storm that saw the field become increasingly wet throughout.
• Arcadia struck first as Matt Brook scored from about 25 yards beating the Bulldog keeper inside the left post as that score stood into the half.
• DeSales tied the game in the 71st minute when first-year Owen Maher snuck one past the Knights keeper after junior Brennan Foster found Maher in the middle of the box.
• The Bulldogs had another golden opportunity around the 80th minute but were unable to connect as the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Maher now has six goals on the season leading the team with 15 points.
• Foster handed out his second assist of the year.
• Senior Nathan Hatzfeld made four saves in goal.

For the Foes

• Jake Varrato totaled five saves for the Knights.
