Field Hockey Ties Single-Season Record for Wins in 5-0 Win over Delaware Valley

Doylestown, PA (October 26, 2022) - The DeSales University field hockey took home a 5-0 win over Delaware Valley University in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening tying the school-record for wins in a season with 13.

  • Final Score: DeSales - 5, Delaware Valley - 0
  • Records: DeSales (13-3, 8-0 MAC Freedom), Delaware Valley (7-10, 3-5 MAC Freedom)
  • The win is DSU's 13th of the year tying the school-record set during the 2019 season.
  • It is the first time in team history DeSales has completed the MAC Freedom regular season undefeated.
  • The Bulldogs have now won five straight over the Aggies and are 9-8 all-time vs. Del. Val.
How it Happened
  • Senior Catie McGrath gave DSU a 1-0 lead just before the end of the first quarter and that lead stood into the half.
  • DSU was unable to widen its lead lead in the third quarter but exploded for four goals in the fourth quarter to add some insurance on the early lead and earn the win.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • McGrath scored twice, her fifth and sixth goals of the season for DeSales.
  • First-year Jordyn Stong scored once and junior Maddie Trocki had two goals in the win.
  • Trocki, senior Sarah Peterson, and sophomore Delani Remp each had assists.
  • Junior Kayla Yeatman made one save to record her eighth shutout of the season.

  • Alyssa Rudd made 12 saves for the Aggies.
