Center Valley, PA (October 31, 2022) - The DeSales University volleyball team saw five different players record at least six kills leading the Bulldogs past FDU-Florham, 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-21) in the quarterfinals of the MAC Freedom postseason tournament on Monday evening in Billera Hall.

How it Happened
- The first set was back-and-forth featuring 14 ties and five lead changes.
- FDU led 18-16 late when the Bulldogs took control winning nine of the last 10 points to take the first set, 25-19.
- DeSales took control in set two and never really looked back hitting .324 for the set.
- The third set was tied at 12 before DSU won five of the next six points to lead 17-13 and cruised the rest of the way.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Senior Diane Pugay and sophomore Samantha Worontzoff each had nine kills hitting .438 and .444 for the match with Worontzoff adding four blocks.
- Junior Shannon McDevitt had eight kills and hit .636 with three blocks and first-year Abby Weise had eight kills, four blocks, and 12 digs in the win.
- Senior McKenzie Brady finished with a match-high 20 digs.
- Junior Grace Grandinetti finished with 36 assists, and two aces.
For the Foes
- Vanessa Freeman had seven kills.
- Julia Hudson totaled 13 digs.
Inside the Box Score
- The Bulldogs hit .291 for the match, fourth highest hitting percentage on the season.
- DSU totaled 43 kills as compared to just 29 for the Devils.
