Annville, PA (November 12, 2022) - The DeSales University women's basketball team opened the 2022-23 season with a 90-37 win over PSU-Hazleton in the opening game of the Rinso/Marquette Tournament at Lebanon Valley College.

How it Happened

• After the Nittany Lions took a 5-4 lead early, DeSales scored the final 21 points of the first quarter to take a 25-5 lead.
• The lead grew to as many as 35 points in the second quarter and the Bulldogs never looked back in the second-half.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Juniors Mikaela Reese and Olivia Scotti each recorded a double-double with Reese totaling 10 points and 10 rebounds and Scotti tallying 11 points and 11 boards off the bench.
• Junior Amelia Saunders had a team-high 13 points off the bench and fellow junior Lindsey Welsh had eight points.
• All 14 players that entered the game scored and no player played more than 19 minutes.

For the Foes

• Jeny Rivera had a team-high 13 points for the Nittany Lions.

• DeSales dominated the glass out-rebounding PSU-Hazleton, 55-27, including 33 offensive boards and 42 second chance points.
