Center Valley, PA (November 30, 2022) - Five players reached double digits leading the DeSales University men's basketball team past King's College, 78-66, in the MAC Freedom opener for DeSales on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.

How it Happened
- DeSales led 6-5 early before the Monarchs scored eight straight points to take a 13-6 lead just under 10 minutes into the game.
- After a timeout the Bulldogs responded scoring 21 straight points to turn a seven point deficit into a 14-point lead (27-13) before settling for a 31-24 advantage at the break.
- DSU pushed its lead back up to 14 points (42-28) early in the second half and saw the lead peak at 28 points (76-48) with 4:04 left to play before King's made a late push to close the gap to 12 points at the final buzzer.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Sophomore Caleb Gibbs and first-year Nate Ellis each had 12 points to lead the scoring attack with Gibbs falling just one rebound shy of a double-double with nine and adding four steals.
- Junior Elijah Eberly and senior Jordan Holmqvist both netted 11 points with Eberly pulling down seven boards.
- Sophomore Devin Atkinson came off the bench to score 10 points.
- Junior Ryan Boylan and senior Will Pollick each had five assists in the win.
For the Foes
- Will Johnson led all scorers with 22 points and added six assists and five steals.
- Garrett Burys added 16 points and JJ Walsh hit for 14 tallies off the bench.
