Women's Basketball Extends Home and Conference Win Streak in Win over King's

Center Valley, PA (November 30, 2022) - The DeSales University extended its home win streak to 31 straight games and opened up MAC Freedom play with a 77-35 win over King's College on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.

The Basics
  • Final Score: DeSales - 77, King's - 35
  • Records: DeSales (6-0, 1-0 MAC Freedom); King's (1-7, 0-2 MAC Freedom)
  • DeSales wins its fifth straight game over King's and improves to 47-28 all-time vs. the Monarchs including a 28-11 mark at home.
  • DSU has now won 31 straight games at home and tonight's win is also the 42nd straight win in MAC Freedom competition.
How it Happened
  • DeSales closed the first quarter on a 9-0 run to take a 15-5 lead and held King's to just six second quarter points in building a 31-11 halftime lead.
  • The offense came alive in the second-half as the Bulldogs scored 46 second-half points and held KC to just eight field goals for the entire game to earn the win.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Junior Lindsey Welsh led all scorers with 14 points, icnluding two 3's and added six rebounds and three steals.
  • Juniors Mikaela Reese and Abigail Rafferty each had 12 points and combined for 11 rebounds and six steals, while Reese blocked five shots.
  • Junior Amelia Saunders had a terrific all-around game totaling eight points, six rebounds, six assists, and two steals in the win.
For the Foes
  • Alli Lindsay led the Monarchs with nine points off the bench.

  • DSU dominated the entire stat sheet scoring 36 points off 32 Monarch turnovers.
  • DeSales had a 44-6 advantage in points in the paint and had an 18-0 advantage in both second chance and fast break points.
