Doylestown, PA (February 15, 2022) - The DeSales University men's basketball team shot just 31.4 percent in the second-half falling to Delaware Valley University, 75-67, in MAC Freedom action on Tuesday evening..

The Basics

  • The loss snaps a nine-game winning streak in the series as the Bulldogs move to 49-23 all-time vs. the Aggies.
How it Happened
  • After Delaware Valley scored the first points of the game, DeSales poured in seven straight to take an early 7-3 lead.
  • Trailing 12-10, the Aggies used its own 7-0 run to take a 17-12 lead after that and the two teams traded baskets the rest of the half with DVU clinging to a 36-33 lead at the break.
  • It was a one point game (46-45) at the 15:14 mark when the Bulldogs went scoreless over the next 4:07 as Delaware Valley slowly built a seven-point advantage.
  • Three straight free throws cut it down to a three-point deficit but the lid was still on the hoop otherwise as the Bulldogs went without a field goal for 8:56 until senior Dat Lambert hit a three at the 6:18 mark making it a seven point game.
  • DeSales crawled to within three with 4:29 left but a three from Godly Marc started a 7-1 run that pushed the Aggies advantage to nine points with 1:56 to go and DVU iced the win from the lane late.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Senior Timmy Edwards finished with a game-high 26 points and pulled down 14 rebounds.
  • Fellow senior Matt Kachelries was also in double digits with 17 points.
For the Foes
  • The Aggies had four players in double figures led by Thomas Ibidapo with a team-high 20 tallies off the bench.
  • Marc and Pernell Ghee each had 15 points.
  • Matt Paulus finished with 10 tallies.
Inside the Box Score
  • DSU hit just 31.7 percent from the field in the second-half after shooting 46.7 percent in the first-half.
  • The Aggie bench out-scored the Bulldog pine squad, 33-10.
