Women's Basketball Dominates Glass for 16th Straight Win

Doylestown, PA (February 15, 2022) - The DeSales University women's basketball team scored 50 points in the paint earning its 16th straight win, 86-48, over Delaware Valley University in MAC Freedom action on Tuesday evening.

The Basics
  • Final Score: DeSales - 86, Delaware Valley - 48
  • Records: DeSales (17-3, 15-0 MAC Freedom); Delaware Valley (6-14, 2-14 MAC Freedom)
  • DeSales has now won 12 straight in the series and improves to 56-15 all-time vs. the Aggies.
  • The Bulldogs have now won 16 straight on the season.
How it Happened
  • DeSales jumped out early taking a 14-2 lead over the first four minutes and increased that advantage by one point after one quarter of play (25-12).
  • Delaware Valley cut the lead down to 10 points to start the second quarter before the Bulldogs used an 11-0 run to take a 37-16 lead at the five minute mark of the second quarter.
  • The lead swelled to 32 (54-22) at the half as DSU finished the half on a 10-0 run.
  • DeSales led by as many as 40 points three times in the second half before the final margin was posted.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Senior Averi Jordan led all scorers with 22 points and pulled down seven boards.
  • Sophomore Mikaela Reese had her seventh double-double of the year with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
  • Sophomore Amelia Saunders had 13 points off the bench and also pulled down seven boards.
  • Sophomore Lindsey Welsh had 11 points and nine rebounds.
For the Foes
  • Lauren Moretti finished with 18 points for the Aggies.
  • Haley Keenan totaled 13 points and seven rebounds.

  • DeSales secured the second most rebounds in a game in team history with 63 and out-scored the Aggies 50-20 in the paint.
