Men's Lacrosse Falls Short in Upset Bid Falling to #13 Cabrini, 15-12

Center Valley, PA (March 19, 2022) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team fell short in a comeback falling to 13th ranked Cabrini University, 15-12, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics
  • Final Score: Cabrini - 15, DeSales - 12
  • Records: DeSales (3-3); Cabrini (4-2)
  • This was the sixth career meeting between the two teams with CU now owning a 5-1 advantage in the all-time series.
How it Happened
  • Cabrini started strong scoring four of the game's first five goals to take a 4-1 lead and the Cavaliers led 8-3 with 3:45 left in the first-half.
  • The Bulldogs took the momentum into the halftime locker room scoring twice to end the half pulling to within three goals (8-5) after two quarters of play.
  • After trading two goals each, Cabrini started to pull away scoring four straight to take its largest lead of the game (14-7) with 3:58 remaining in the third quarter.
  • DeSales showed no quit however scoring two straight to cut into the margin and after a Cavalier goal scored three more to get within three goals at the 7:52 mark of the game.
  • Cabrini's defense held the Bulldogs at bay the rest of the way to cling to the 15-12 final tally.

  • Austin Bolton had four goals and three assists for seven points.
  • Dillon McManus finished with two goals and four assists.
  • Jake Schneider added three goals and one helper.
  • Matt Nestler made 19 saves in goal.
  • Jake Huey was 15-for-28 on the face-off with eight ground balls.
