Center Valley, PA (March 20, 2022) - The DeSales University softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon to Montclair State University in non-conference action by scores of 8-1 and 15-12.
Game One (L/1-8)
A scoreless game thru two innings saw MSU score four times in the top of the third inning and eventually led 7-0 thru five before the final 8-1 tally.
First-yearÂ
Tabitha Lawless took the loss allowing four runs thru three innings of work.
JuniorÂ
Olivia Ondrejca went 2-for-2 with a solo home run in the game one loss.
Game Two (L/12-15)
Montclair State jumped out early in this one scoring five times in the first inning and led 8-2 entering the bottom of the fourth inning when DeSales exploded for seven runs including a grand slam from seniorÂ
Reilly Kerr giving DSU a 9-8 lead.
MSU scored once in the fifth and twice in the sixth to take an 11-9 lead but the Bulldogs tied it in the bottom of the seventh inning on a two-run home run from seniorÂ
Kristen Suran.
The Red Hawks scored four times in the eighth to lead 15-11 and DeSales was only able to get one back in the bottom half.
Kerr finished 3-for-5 with four RBIs, juniorÂ
Nicole Secara had two hits and scored twice, and juniorÂ
Kayleigh Ferraro scored twice and had two RBIs. JuniorÂ
Victoria Agnoli had two hits.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday when they host Kean University in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3:00 pm.
