Montclair, NJ (March 30, 2022) - The DeSales University baseball team defeated Montclair State University holding off a ninth inning rally, 12-10, in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon at Yogi Berra Stadium.
The win is DSU's first-ever over the Redhawks on the road breaking a 13-game losing winless streak all-time vs. Montclair State. DSU is now 7-19-1 all-time vs. MSU.
DSU took a 6-0 lead after two and a half innings before MSU scored four times in the third and fourth innings to tie the game at eight.

Billy Scanlon gave the Bulldogs lead for good hitting a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning.
DeSales added two more runs iin the eighth on a two-run double from seniorÂ
Robert Lamm and scored an insurance run in the ninth on an RBI double from sophomoreÂ
Gavin Zavorski.
Eight different pitchers saw action in the win. First-yearÂ
Mike Romano earned the win pitching two scoreless. SeniorÂ
JJ Paul recorded a save getting the final two outs entering the game with the bases loaded and just one out.

Trevor Leamer, Lamm, and Zavorski each had two hits as part of an 11-hit attack.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday when they travel to Delaware Valley University for a MAC Freedom game beginning at 3:30 pm.
