Little River, SC (March 7, 2022) - The DeSales University softball team dropped both games on day two of its spring trip to South Carolina on Monday falling to Eastern Mennonite University and Lebanon Valley College.
Game One (L/8-18 vs. EMU)
DeSales took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first inning after a triple from juniorÂ
Victoria Agnoli and a double from juniorÂ
Kayleigh Ferraro but it was all EMU after that as they took a 5-2 lead with four runs in the second inning and led 14-2 after plating nine runs in the top of the third inning.
DSU got two back in the bottom of the third and scored four times in the fifth before falling 18-8.
Ferraro finished 2-for-2 with three runs scored and juniorÂ
Lily Trexler scored twice.
Game Two (L/3-7 vs. LVC)
After the Flying Dutchmen took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, DSU rallied to tie the game at two in the fourth on three walks and a couple of LVC passed balls.
Leb. Val. reclaimed the lead with two in the bottom half of the fourth inning and scored three more times in the fifth to take a 7-2 lead and never looked back from there.
Ferraro had two more hits and juniorÂ
Olivia Ondrejca went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
DSU is off tomorrow before returning to action on Wednesday when they take on Salem College and William Peace University.
