Men's Lacrosse Falls in Second Overtime at Arcadia, 12-11

Glenside, PA (April 13, 2022) - The DeSales University surrendered a four-goal second-half lead falling to Arcadia University, 12-11, in two overtimes in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening.

The Basics

  • Records: DeSales (6-5, 2-2 MAC Freedom); Arcadia (9-3, 5-0 MAC Freedom)
  • The loss snaps a two-game win streak over Arcadia in the series and drops DSU to 5-2 all-time vs. the Knights.
How it Happened
  • After Arcadia scored the first two goals of the game, DeSales answered with four straight to lead 4-2 early in the second quarter.
  • The Knights tied the game at four as the two teams heading into the halftime locker room.
  • DeSales blitzed the Knights in the third quarter scoring six of the first seven goals to take a commanding 10-6 lead with 3:11 left in the third quarter.
  • Arcadia got two goals in the last 1:10 of the quarter to steal the momentum and tied the game at 10 early in the fourth quarter.
  • The Bulldogs reclaimed an 11-10 lead with 8:26 left but the Knights tied the game with 5:10 to go forcing overtime.
  • Neither team scored in the first overtime period and after the Bulldogs won the second overtime face-off, a missed shot and eventual turnover gave the ball to Arcadia who scored with 2:09 to go in the second overtime to secure the win.

  • Justin Chinici had four goals and an assist to lead the Knights.
  • Brian Albertsen and Billy Burton each scored twice and Wesley Sporer had a goal and three assists.
  • Timmy Fyock finished with eight saves in goal.
