Bulldogs Salvage Split in Home DH with FDU-Florham on Lamm Sacrifice Fly

Center Valley, PA (April 16, 2022) - Senior Robert Lamm hit a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh of game two helping the DeSales University baseball team salvage a split of a MAC Freedom doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Weiland Park.

Game One (L/3-6)
FDU took a 5-1 lead thru two and a half innings taking advantage of some Bulldog errors and misplays.

DSU got two runs back in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI double from senior Dillon Drew and a throwing error from the Devils.

The Devils added an insurance run in the fifth on a solo home run and DeSales couldn't find the big hit leaving 13 men on-base over seven innings, out-hitting FDU, 13-7.

Junior Ryan Rieber took the loss allowing five earned runs over four innings.  Senior Will Manley pitched three scoreless innings, striking out three.

Senior Liam Kile had three hits, while senior Trevor Leamer, Lamm, sophomore Gavin Zavorski, and first-year Gabe Diaz all had two hits.

Game Two (W/4-3)
The Devils took an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning and continued to lead 3-1 into the bottom of the seventh inning when the Bulldogs rallied.

Leamer tied the game with a two-RBI triple with one out and Lamm pushed home across the game winner with a deep sacrifice fly to right field plating Leamer.

Senior Ian Kacergis improved to 6-0 on the season with his fourth complete-game effort of the season allowing three runs and striking out six.

Leamer had two more hits in the game two win.

The Bulldogs wrap-up the three-game set with the Devils on Monday with game time set for 3:30 pm.
