Madison, NJ (April 18, 2022) - The DeSales University baseball took the rubber game of the three-game series set behind five scoreless innings from the bullpen in an 8-6 win over FDU-Florham on a cold Monday afternoon.

DSU took a 2-0 lead on a two-run double from sophomore Gavin Zavorski in the second inning before the Devils got two runs in the third and four more runs iin the fourth to take a 6-2 lead.

The Bulldogs tied the game at six in the top of the fifth on an RBI double from first-year Patrick Kusters and two-RBI double from senior Trevor Leamer and added solo runs in the sixth and seventh on an RBI triple from Kusters and RBI single from first-year Gabe Diaz to take an 8-6 lead.

The bullpen did the rest as first-year Mike Romano pitched four scoreless innings to earn the win and improve to 3-0 on the season. He ran his scoreless innings streak to 11 innings having not been scored on in his last six outings.  Romano had six K's in four innings.

Fellow first-year Frank Parrotti earned his first career save pitching around a leadoff double in the ninth inning.

Kusters, Leamer, senior Hunter Spalt, junior Joe Grigas IV, and Diaz each had two hits as part of 12-hit attack.

DeSales is back on the diamond on Wednesday when they host local rival Muhlenberg College in a non-conferene game beginning at 6:00 pm.
