Errors Prove Costly in Two Losses to Arcadia

Center Valley, PA (April 20, 2022) - The DeSales University softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader in MAC Freedom action with Arcadia University at McGettigan Park on Wednesday afternoon.

Game One (L/5-8)
The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and added a run in the second and three more in the third to lead 5-1 thru four innings including a big two-run double from senior Reilly Kerr.

Arcadia clawed its way back in the game scoring two unearned runs in the fifth and another unearned tally in the sixth to get within one (5-4).

The Bulldogs committed two more errors in the first four batters of the seventh inning loading the bases and the Knights tied it on a bases loaded walk before blowing it open with two straight singles as AU scored eight runs, all unearned to take game one.

Senior Heather Hall was a tough luck loser going all seven innings, striking out three. First-year Tori Kenney led a five-hit attack with two hits.

Game Two (L/0-16)
It was all Knights in game two as they scored in every inning and plated seven runs in the third inning to blow the game open.

Kerr and junior Kayleigh Ferraro each had hits in the loss.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday when they travel to King's College for another MAC Freedom doubleheader beginning at 1:00 pm.
