Scranton, PA (April 27, 2022) - The DeSales University baseball team scored four runs in the third inning and held on late in a 5-4 win at the University of Scranton in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs took a 4-1 lead in the top of the third taking advantage of two Royal errors and got RBI singles from senior Trevor Leamer and sophomore Gavin Zavorski.

Senior Dillon Drew added a sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth giving the Bulldogs a 5-1 lead and the pitching staff did the rest as seven different pitches pitched in the win including senior JJ Paul who earned his second save of the season with a perfect ninth inning striking out two.

First-year Gabe Diaz had a big day at the plate going 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

DSU is back in action on Friday when they host Arcadia University in a MAC Freedom game beginning at 3:30 pm.
