Center Valley, PA (April 30, 2022) - The DeSales University softball team finished up the MAC Freedom regular season with a doubleheader sweep of Lycoming College on Saturday afternoon winning by scores of 11-3 and 6-4 at McGettigan Park.
Despite the sweep, DSU did not get the necessary help and finished the regular season out of the playoffs, finishing sixth in the standings.
Game One (W/11-3)
DSU exploded for 17 hits in game one as the Bulldogs closed out the Warriors in five innings.
JuniorÂ
Nicole Secara went 4-for-4 with two RBIs, juniorÂ
Victoria Agnoli was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, juniorÂ
Kayleigh Ferraro finished 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, juniorÂ
Olivia Ondrejca was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and first-yearÂ
Tori Kenney had two hits and two RBIs in the game one win.
Senior
Heather Hall pitched four innings allowing just two earned, striking out three to earn the win.
Game Two (W/6-4)
DeSales struck early in this one scoring four times in the first and once in both the second and third innings to take a commanding 6-0 lead.
SeniorÂ
Reilly Kerr had a two-run home run in the first and Agnoli had an inside-the-park home run in the second inning.
SophomoreÂ
Alanna Hartzell earned the win with 5 2/3 strong innings allowing just three earned and first-yearÂ
Tabitha Lawless earned her first save of the year.
JuniorÂ
Lily Trexler had two hits, Ondrejca had two hits, and Kenney had two hits to lead the offensive attack.
The Bulldogs will finish its season on Monday traveling to local rival Moravian University on Monday for a non-conference doubleheader.
