Billy Scanlon hit a three-run home run in the top of the seventh of game two giving the DeSales University baseball team a doubleheader sweep over Wilkes University head coach
Tim Neiman his 800th career win on Saturday afternoon in MAC Freedom action.
Neiman now owns a career record of 800-457-5 (.636). He becomes just the 39th coach in the history of NCAA Division III baseball to win 800 career games coaching in his 33rd season.
Game One (W/8-1)
A tie game thru three innings saw the Bulldogs take the lead for good in the fourth inning on an RBI single from junior
Colin Trembley. DSU plated two more runs in the fifth on a two-RBI single from sophomore
Gavin Zavorski and added three more in the sixth on a two-RBI single from senior
Gabe Lamm.
Junior
Ryan Rieber earned the win pitching five strong innings allowing just two hits and one run, striking out four. First-year
Mike Romano tossed two scoreless in relief, striking out two.
First-year
Patrick Kusters had two hits, including a solo home run, while Zavorski and Trembley also had two hits.
Game Two (W/6-3)
After both teams exchanged two runs in the first inning, Wilkes claimed a 3-2 lead with an unearned in the bottom of the second inning.
DeSales tied the game at three in the fifth on an RBI single from sophomore
Travis Kerr and the game remained tied heading to the seventh inning.
With two outs and runners on first and third, senior
Billy Scanlon hit a three-run blast to center field, his eighth home run of the season, giving DSU a 6-3 lead.
Senior
Ian Kacergis did the rest wrapping up a complete-game effort allowing just two earned and striking out four to improve to 5-0 on the season.

Trevor Leamer finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored, while Lamm and Trembley each had two hits.
