Center Valley, PA (September 17, 2022) - The DeSales University field hockey team opened up both its home and MAC Freedom schedule with a convincing 8-0 win over Arcadia University on Saturday afternoon.

• DSU avenges a 4-0 loss to the Knights last season and improve to 7-8 all-time vs. the Knights.
• The eight goals are the sixth most in a game in team history.

How it Happened

• After a scoreless first quarter, DSU wasted no time getting on the board scoring just 44 seconds into the second quarter as first-year Nikki Chiaradia scored off a pass from senior Caroline McGrath.
• DSU added two more goals in the quarter to take a 3-0 halftime lead.
• The Bulldogs added two more tallies in the third quarter to take a 5-0 lead and capped off the win with three markers in the fourth quarter.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Sophomore Maddie Trocki, senior Tyra Wingle, and Caroline McGrath each scored twice in the win.
• First-year Jordyne Stong and Chiaradia also scored.
• Senior Sarah Peterson had two assists, while senior Catie McGrath, Caroline McGrath, and Trocki also had helpers.
• Sophomore Kayla Yeatman made two saves to record her second shutout of the season.

For the Foes

• Gracie Fenner made seven saves for the Knights and Leana Solommon had three saves.

• The Bulldogs dominated play out-shooting Arcadia, 29-5, and out-cornering the Knights, 13-8.
