Big Second-Half Lifts Men's Basketball Past Arcadia, 74-58

Center Valley, PA (Janury 14, 2023) - The DeSales University men's basketball out-scored Arcadia University 39-23 in the second-half leading to a 74-58 win over the Knights to stay unbeaten in the MAC Freedom on Saturday afternoon.

  • The first-half saw several lead changes and neither team led by more than six points before both team settled for a tie at 35 after 20 minutes.
  • A mini 7-0 run near the end of the half gave DSU a 31-30 lead before hitting the locker room tied at 35.
  • Arcadia led by four several times early in the second-half, including the last time at 45-41, with 15:14 left to play.
  • DeSales dominated from there using a 25-4 run over the next 10:12 to take a 66-49 lead.
  • The Bulldogs held the Knights to just one field goal during the stretch and saw seven different player score led by nine points from junior Ryan Boylan.
  • The lead peaked at 22 points with 1:01 left before the final tally was posted.

  • Junior Mason Barnes had a game-high tying 26 points, hitting 4-for-5 from deep and adding five assists.
  • Senior Jordan Holmqvist was hot early early hitting 3 3's for nine points.
  • Boylan and first-year Nate Ellis also finished with nine points in the win.
  • Senior Will Bowen had eight points off the bench.
For the Foes
  • Jalen Watkins tied Barnes with a game-high 16 points.
  • Nas Johnson finished with 14 points.
  • Justin Money also reached double digits with 11 points and added four assists.
