#11/12 Women's Basketball Rolls Past Lycoming, 77-32

Center Valley, PA (January 28, 2023) - The #11/12 ranked DeSales University women's basketball team saw four players get into double digits leading the Bulldogs to a 77-32 win over Lycoming College in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

  • The Bulldogs have now won 22 straight between the two teams as DSU improves to 16-0 all-time vs. the Warriors.
  • The win is also DSU's 36th straight at home, extending the school-record.
How it Happened
  • DeSales scored the first 10 points of the game before Lycoming pulled to within two points (12-10) a few minutes later.
  • DSU ended the first quarter on an 8-0 run to lead by 10 after 10 minutes of play.
  • Neither team shot the ball well in the second quarter as the Bulldogs extended its lead by just three points to lead 29-16 at the break.
  • The second-half was all Bulldogs as DSU out-scored Lycoming, 27-7, in the third quarter to take control and never looked back from there.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Senior Megan Bealer led all scorers with 19 points, adding four rebounds, five assists, and eight steals.
  • Junior Mikaela Reese finished with 13 points and five rebounds.
  • Juniors Olivia Scotti (11 points) and Lindsey Welsh (10 points) also reached double digits.
  • Junior Abigail Rafferty had a team-high eight rebounds and Welsh added five dimes.
For the Foes
  • Kenzie Reed led the Warriors with seven points and 11 rebounds.
  • Ashley Yoh also pulled down 11 rebounds in the loss.

  • DSU held Lycoming to just 21.6 percent shooting for the game.
  • DeSales hit 37 percent from the field and had 40-3 advantage in points off turnovers.
