Ribeiro Scores Twice in 3-1 Women's Soccer Win over FDU-Florham

Center Valley, PA (October 21, 2023) - Junior Emma Ribeiro scored two goals helping lead the DeSales University women's soccer team past FDU-Florham, 3-1, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

  • The win moves the Bulldogs to 12-14-3 all-time vs. the Devils. 
How it Happened
  • DeSales struck first in this one taking a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute when first-year Catherine Crampton found Ribeiro in the center of the box where she blasted a left-footed shot that found the top shelf of the net. 
  • FDU-Florham got the tying goal in the 52nd minute on a goal by Mia Lopez about 20 yards out on a feed from Daniella Conanan. 
  • It only took the Bulldogs five minutes to retake the lead when Ribeiro scored her second of the game by beating the keeper 1-on-1 after she slipped on a goal kick.
  • DSU put the exclamation point on the final tally in the 71st minute after senior Elizabeth McCarthy chipped and beat the keeper once again on a through pass from fellow senior Holly McFarland.

  • Ribeiro's two goals ties her for first on the team with six on the season.
  • Crampton tallied her team-leading third assist.
  • McFarland tallied her first assist of the year.
  • Senior Jozlyn Minnema made five saves in goal and recorded the win.
For the Foes
  • Lopez had the lone goal for the Devils.
  • Erica Blackburn made six saves in the loss.
