Dallas, PA (October 25, 2023) - The DeSales University women's soccer team fell to #25 Misericordia University, 4-0, in MAC Freedom conference action on Wednesday evening.

The Basics

• Final Score: Misericordia - 4, DeSales - 0
• Records: DeSales (4-12-1, 3-3 MAC Freedom); Misericordia (12-3-1, 6-0 MAC Freedom)
• The Cougars have now won 13 straight in the series and DSU falls to 1-22-1 all-time vs. Misericordia.
• The Bulldogs remain in the playoff hunt with one game left at King's on Saturday. DSU gets in with a win or a tie over the Monarchs on Saturday. 

How it Happened

• Misericordia broke open the scoring in the 5th minute on a goal from Madison Brdaric on pass from Emma Sweitzer.
• The Cougars added two more goals in the 13th and 16th minute on goals from Brenna Field and Emma Sweitzer to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
• Just five minutes into the second half the Cougars provided the final tally and kept the Bulldogs scoreless to close out the game. 

Top Bulldog Performers

• Senior Jozlyn Minnema had a great game in goal making 10 saves.
• Senior Emma Ribeiro and junior Tori Harnett each had the shots on goal. 

For the Foes

• Madison Brdaric, Emma Sweitzer, Brenna Field, and Colleen Kinsella each scored for the Cougars.
• Haleigh Wintersteen led the team with two assists. 
• Emma Stroud and Lauren Mondor combined for three saves and the shutout win.

Inside the Box Score

• The Cougars had a 27-4 advantage in shots and a 14-3 edge in shots on goal.
• Misericordia took all six corner kicks in the game.
