Dallas, PA (October 24, 2023) - The DeSales University men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at Misericordia University on Tuesday evening in MAC Freedom action on Tuesday evening.

The Basics

• Final Score: Misericordia - 2, DeSales - 1
• Records: DeSales (5-6-4, 1-2-3 MAC Freedom); Misericordia (4-7-4, 2-1-3 MAC Freedom)
• It is DSU's fifth straight loss to the Cougars falling to 7-15-4 all-time.
• The Bulldogs remain in the playoff hunt with one game left at King's on Saturday. DSU gets in with a win or a tie over the Monarchs on Saturday. 

How it Happened

• Senior Elek McDonald got things started very early in this one scoring on a loose ball in the box just 1:50 into the game.
• The Cougars tied the game just over five minutes later and the game remained tied into the half.
• DeSales controlled play in the second half out-shooting MU, 10-6, but MU got the eventual game-winner in the 73rd minute handing DSU its second conference loss of the year.

• The goal was McDonald's second of the year.
• Sophomore Conner Zimmerman made two saves in goal.

• Max Gariano and Rocky Russo scored MU's goals.
