Center Valley, PA (November 1, 2023) - The DeSales University volleyball team battled but ultimately came up short falling to MAC Freedom leader Stevens, 3-1, in the MAC Freedom regular season finale on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.
DSU needed a win over the Ducks to earn a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason and with the loss now awaits the result of tomorrow night's Arcadia/Delaware Valley matchup to learn its postseason fate. The Bulldogs currently sit in a three-way tie in the loss colum with Arcadia and Misericordia but will lose the tiebreaker if Arcadia wins its match tomorrow night vs. Delaware Valley. If the Aggies can defeat the Knights, DSU will earn a spot in the postseason as the #4 seed.
After dropping the first two sets on Wednesday, DeSales never quit playing a terrific third set to keep the match going. DSU was down 23-19 in the fourth set before scoring four straight points to tie the score at 23 but the Ducks got the final two points on a net violation and kill to stave off the comeback.

Paige Lewis each had eight kills with Maddalone adding 15 digs and Lewis totaling four blocks.

DSU will return to action on Saturday when they take on SUNY New-Paltz and Montclair State on Saturday in a tri-match.
