Mason Barnes tossed in a team-high 16 points leading the DeSales University men's basketball team to a 2-0 start to the season after a 72-62 win over The College of New Jersey in non-conference action on Tuesday evening in Billera Hall.

How it Happened
- The game was back-and-forth over the first 14 minutes of the game as DSU clung to a one-point lead (20-19) with 6:35 left in the opening half.
- Senior Will Bowen hit a three to push the lead up to four points and the Bulldogs led by 3 (27-24) at the 4:03 mark.
- Barnes got hot after that hitting four 3's over the span of 2:37 extending a three-point margin up to 13 points (39-26) at the halftime break.
- The lead hovered around 12-15 points over the first nine minutes of the second-half until TCNJ got within nine (50-41).
- Senior Christian Guldin hit a three igniting an 8-0 run pushing the lead up to 17 points (58-41) with 7:38 left and the lead remained in double digits until the 16 second mark when the Lions got back within nine before the final margin was posted.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Barnes finished with 16 points, adding six rebounds, three assists, two steals, and three blocks.
- Senior Elijah Eberly had 13 points and eight boards off the bench.
- Guldin added 10 points and six boards.
- Junior Caleb Gibbs had eight points and nine rebounds and senior Will Bowen had a team-high five assists.
For the Foes
- Nick Koch led all scorers with a game-high 24 points.
- Jason Larranaga also had double digits with 14 points.
Inside the Box Score
- DSU shot 45.8 percent from the field and held TCNJ to just 35.4 percent shooting.
- The Bulldogs made 10 three-pointers and dominated the glass out-rebounding the Lions, 42-26.
