Megan Bealer became the 26th player in team history to score 1,000 career points leading the 18th ranked DeSales University women's basketball team past Hamline University, 67-55, on day two of the Florida Sunshine Shootout tournament on Friday morning.

- Today's game marked the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
How it Happened
- Hamline took the lead early in this one scoring the first three points of the game before the Bulldogs countered with four points of their own to take a 4-3 lead four minutes into the game. The Pipers responded with a 11-5 run to end the first quarter to take a 14-9 lead.
- Both teams went back and forth to start the second quarter with the Bulldogs scoring the first five points to tie the game up at 14 before Hamline countered with five straight points to regain the lead and push the margin back to five (19-14) midway through the second.
- DSU went on a late 11-5 run to close out the half and take a 25-24 lead into the break.
- The third quarter was all DSU with both teams exchanging buckets to start the second-half before the Bulldogs went on a 9-2 run to push the lead to eight (36-28) with six minutes to play in the third. DSU swelled the lead to 47-34 at the end of three quarters of play.
- The fourth quarter was an even battle for both teams as Hamline outscored DSU, 21-20, but the Bulldogs maintained the lead throughout before the final tally of 12 points.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Bealer now has 1,015 career points, totaling 24 on Friday on 8-16 shooting and making four three's.
- Senior Mikaela Reese recorded a double-double scoring 18 points and had 10 boards to go along with three steals.
- Senior Olivia Scotti also had a double-double in the win with 10 points and 11 rebounds while also tallying four assists.
- Senior Amelia Saunders made her 100th career three-pointer in the win, becoming the 11th player in team history to reach 100 career three's.
For the Foes
- Sophie Stork and Lydia Lecher led the Pipers in scoring with each scoring 10 points.
- Stork added six rebounds while Lecher had eight boards in the loss.
