#8/9 Women's Basketball Extends Home Win Streak in 74-37 Win over Delaware Valley

Center Valley, PA (February 8, 2023) - The #8/9 DeSales University women's basketball team rode another strong defensive effort in extending its home win streak to 37-straight in a 74-37 win over Delaware Valley University in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening.

How it Happened
  • The Bulldogs blew open a tie at six early in the first quarter finishing the quarter on a 15-3 run to take a 21-9 lead.
  • DSU's defense was as good as ever in the second quarter holding the Aggies to just four points and scoreless for the first seven minutes of the second quarter taking a 38-13 lead into the halftime locker room.
  • DeSales never looked back in the second-half, out-scoring DVU, 19-12, in the third quarter and cruising home over the final 10 minutes.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Junior Abigail Rafferty was outstanding finishing with her third double-double of the year totaling 11 points and 11 rebounds, while adding five assists, five steals, and four blocks.
  • Junior Mikaela Reese also had an impressive stat line finishing with 11 points, six rebounds, six assists, four steals, and four blocks.
  • Junior Lindsey Welsh added a game-high 13 points and was just one rebound shy of a double-double with nine pulls.
  • Junior Amelia Saunders had nine points off the bench.
For the Foes
  • Maisie Neuber led the Aggies with 12 points off the bench.
