Hackettstown, NJ (March 16, 2023) - The DeSales University softball scored 11 runs late in game one and eight runs late in game two to earn a doubleheader sweep at Centenary University in non-conference action on Thursday afternoon.
Game One (W/12-4)
DSU trailed 2-1 entering the sixth inning when they Bulldogs scored five times in the sixth and six times in the seventh to pull away for a game one win.

Kylie Bryant had a two-RBI single and first-yearÂ
Amy Wood and seniorÂ
Victoria Agnoli each had RBI base hits during the frame. In the seventh, Agnoli had a two-run double, while seniorÂ
Kayleigh Ferraro, Bryant, and first-yearÂ
Camryn Coates had RBI singles.
SophomoreÂ
Rachel Lowry earned the win pitching five solid innings allowing two runs and striking out three.
Angoli finished 2-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBIs, Ferraro was 2-for-3 with three runs scored, Bryant had four hits and knocked in three runs and sophomoreÂ
Abigail Rodriguez was 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
Game Two (W/15-4)
Game two was a tight one as DSU led by just one (5-4) thru five innings before the Bulldogs two runs in the sixth to make it a 7-4 game on a two-RBI single from first-yearÂ
Ava Goodman and exploded for eight runs in the seventh to put the game out of reach.
First-yearÂ
Riley Long earned her third win of the season going four innings allowing three earned runs, striking out five. SophomoreÂ
Tabitha Lawless earned a save allowing just one earned run over three innings.
Senior
Nicole Secara had three hits and knocked in two runs, Agnoli had two hits, two runs scored, and two RBIs, and sophomoreÂ
Tori Kenney finished 5-for-6 with two RBIs.
Goodman finished with four hits, two runs scored, and two RBIs, while juniorÂ
Alexys Vernier finished 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two RBIs.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday when they host Delaware Valley University in the first home games and first MAC Freedom games of the season beginning at 1:00 pm at McGettigan Park.
