Men's Lacrosse Falls at #17 Cabrini, 15-6

Radnor, PA (March 17, 2023) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team dropped a 15-6 decision at #17 Cabrini University in non-conference action on Friday evening.

The Basics

  • DSU falls to 1-6 all-time vs. the Cavaliers.
  • This marks the fourth this season DeSales has faced a nationally ranked team at the time of playing each opponent.
How it Happened
  • DSU hung tight with Cabrini over the first two quarters trailing by just two (5-3) after a goal from first-year Jake Hurd to close out the opening with 30 seconds left.
  • After Cabrini scored the first goal of the second-half, Hurd scored two straight to pull the Bulldogs within one (6-5) with 9:49 to go in the third quarter.
  • The Cavaliers took control from there scoring nine straight goals to take a 15-5 lead and never looked back after that.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Hurd finished with a team-high three goals in just his second career game.
  • Junior Colin Adams had two goals and first-year Taylor Wikert added a goal.
  • Senior Beau Neff finished with three assists, while junior TJ Herron and first-year Angelo Luzzetti each had one helper.
  • Junior Quinten Lyons had another terrific game totaling 20 saves.
For the Foes
  • Matt Vanaman had four goals and Connor Herraiz added two goals and two assists.
  • Logan Cleary and Sam Ditrolio each had eight face-off wins.
  • Connor Watts made 13 saves in goal.
