Men's Lacrosse Dominates Moravian in 22-6 Win

Center Valley, PA (March 22, 2023) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team scored 13 straight goals and ran away with a 22-6 win over local rival Moravian University in non-conference action on Wednesday evening.

The Basics
  • Final Score: DeSales - 22, Moravian - 6
  • Records: DeSales (2-6 Overall); Moravian (3-4 Overall)
  • It is DSU's fifth straight win over Moravian improving to 7-4 in the all-time series.
How it Happened
  • Moravian scored the first goal of the game and it was all Bulldogs after that.
  • DeSales finished the first-half with 11 straight goals to take an 11-1 halftime lead and scored the first two goals of the third quarter to lead 13-1.
  • The Greyhounds got three straight tallies to make it 13-4 but once again the Bulldogs answered with nine straight to take a 22-4 lead before the final tally was posted.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • DeSales had several breakout performances led by junior Colin Adams with three goals and four assists for seven points.
  • Senior Beau Neff added two goals and four assists and first-year Jake Hurd had three goals.
  • Junior Pat Wixted had two goals and two assists, senior Domenic Maria scored twice, junior TJ Herron and sophomore Jake Fratarcangeli each finished with two goals and an assist.
  • First-year Angelo Luzzetti scored twice and first-year Mark Winkler Jr. had a goal an assist to round out the scoring leaders.
  • Senior Zach Broomall won 13-of-15 face-offs and had six ground balls.
  • Junior Quinten Lyons finished with seven saves.
For the Foes
  • Connor James had two goals for the Greyhounds.
Inside the Box Score
  • DeSales out-shot Moravian, 51-27, had a decisive 45-24 lead in ground balls.
  • DSU won 21-of-30 face-offs and was 15-for-16 on the clear.
