Williamsport, PA (March 29, 2023) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team opened up MAC Freedom play with a 13-8 road win over Lycoming College on Wednesday evening.

The Basics

• Final Score: DeSales - 13, Lycoming - 8
• Records: DeSales (3-6, 1-0 MAC Freedom); Lyocming (3-7, 0-1 MAC Freedom)
• This is DeSales' third straight win over the Warriors improving them to 3-15 all-time vs. Lycoming.

How it Happened

• Lycoming led 2-1 early and again by one goal (4-3) after one quarter of play.
• DeSales scored the only two goals of the second quarter as the defense stiffened up and the Bulldogs had a 5-4 lead into the half.
• The Warriors tied the score at five out of the locker room but the Bulldogs dominated from there.
• DSU scored seven straight goals to end the third quarter and start the fourth quarter pulling away from LC for the first conference win of the season.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Junior TJ Herron had four goals and one assist and first-year Mark Winkler Jr. finished with three goals and one assist.
• Junior Colin Adams had two goals and two assists and first-year Jake Hurd added two goals and one assist.
• First-year Angelo Luzzetti had a goal and an assist and sophomore Jake Fratarcangeli scored once.
• Senior Beau Neff had three helpers and senior Domenic Maria added two assists.
• Senior Zach Broomall won 14-of-18 faceoffs and picked up nine ground balls.
• Junior Quinten Lyons made 13 saves in goal.

For the Foes

• Owen Zimmerman was almost all of LC's scoring with seven of the eight goals.
• Ben Franco had 25 saves in goal.

Inside the Box Score

• DeSales dominated the stat sheet with a 52-32 advantage in shots.
• DSU also had a 29-17 edge in ground balls and won 17-of-24 faceoffs.
• The Bulldogs scored four man-up goals.
