Williamsport, PA (March 18, 2023) - The DeSales University baseball team split a road doubleheader at Lycoming College to earn a weekend series win taking two of three from the Warriors.
Game One (L/5-9)
DeSales was in control of this one early scoring twice in the second inning and three times in the third to take a 5-0 lead after a two-RBI double from junior 
Gavin Zavorski in the third inning.
It remained a 5-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth inning before Lycoming cut into the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fourth and the Warriors took the lead for good with six runs in the fifth to claim the 9-5 win.
First-year 
Carson Allison stayed hot at the plate with three more hits, while sophomore 
Patrick Kusters and Zavorski each had two RBIs.
Senior 
Will Manley took the loss allowing four unearned runs in the fifth inning.
Game Two (W/8-4)
The Bulldogs scored in five of the first six innings to earn the split and take two of three to win the weekend series.
Junior 
Travis Kerr hit a solo home run in the second inning and senior 
Colin Trembley had a two-RBI single in the third inning staking DSU to another 5-0 lead thru three innings.
After Lycoming got three runs back in the fourth inning to cut into the lead but the Bulldogs added a run in the fifth on an RBI single from Kerr and two more runs in the sixth on RBI hits from senior 
Joe Grigas IV and senior 
Billy Scanlon.
Sophomore 
Alex Chase earned the win pitching four innings, allowing four earned, and striking out six. Sophomore 
Mike Romano earned a three inning save with three scoreless frames, fanning three.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday when they host Misericordia University in a MAC Freedom game beginning at 3:30 pm.
