Center Valley, PA (March 21, 2023) - Senior Joe Grigas IV hit a two-run walkoff home run leading the DeSales University baseball team past Misericordia University, 4-3, in MAC Freedom action on Tuesday afternoon at Weiland Park.

The win moves DeSales into a tie with the Cougars in the MAC Freedom standings at 5-2 and moves the Bulldogs within one game of .500 at 7-8.

Grigas hit a 1-2 pitch over the left centerfield fence plating sophomore Gabe Diaz who had singled to start the bottom of the ninth inning.

DeSales led 1-0 after three innings as Diaz doubled home sophomore Patrick Kusters in the third and led 2-1 thru five innings after a solo home run from junior Gavin Zavorski.

Misericordia took a 3-2 lead in the sixth and that lead stood into the ninth inning.

Senior Will Manley earned the win pitching two scoreless innings of relief striking out two. Junior Jared Drake pitched a solid six innings allowing three earned runs and striking out five.

Diaz finished the game with three of DSU's seven hits.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to return to action on Friday when they open a three-game weekend set at FDU-Florham with first pitch set for 3:30 pm.
