Madison, NJ (March 24, 2023) - The DeSales University baseball team opened up its three-game weekend set vs. FDU-Florham with a 4-2 win in MAC Freedom action on Friday afternoon.
DSU took a 2-0 lead in the first inning as sophomore 
Patrick Kusters plated first-year 
Carson Allison with an RBI triple and scored three batters later on a double steal.
That lead stood into the sixth inning when the Devils tied the game at two, but the Bulldogs took the lead for good scoring twice in the eighth on a sacrifice bunt from junior 
Travis Kerr and RBI single from junior 
Gavin Zavorski.
Sophomore 
Mike Romano did the rest tossing four scoreless innings of relief allowing just five hits and striking out two.  Senior 
Ryan Rieber also pitched well going five strong allowing two earned runs and striking out two.
Allison and Kusters each had two hits in the win.
These two teams finish up the weekend series with a doubleheader on Sunday at Weiland Park beginning at 2:00 pm.
