Center Valley, PA (March 26, 2023) - The DeSales University baseball team completed its three-game weekend sweep of FDU-Florham taking both ends of a MAC Freedom doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at Weiland Park.
Game One (W/13-6)
After each team scored once in the first inning, DeSales took a 5-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning on RBI singles from juniorÂ
Colin McCunney and seniorÂ
Billy Scanlon and an RBI double from sophomoreÂ
Patrick Kusters.
The Devils got one run back in the top of the third inning but the Bulldogs blew the game open scoring six times in the bottom half of the third to take an 11-2 lead and never looked back from there. First-year

Colin Trembley each had RBI triples in the third inning.
First-yearÂ
Andrew McGowan earned the win with 1 2/3 innings of relief allowing one earned run and two hits.
Allison finished with two hits, two RBIs, and three runs scored, Kusters had two hits, two runs, and three RBIs and Scanlon had two hits. JuniorÂ
Travis Kerr and sophomoreÂ
Justin DeStaso also each had two hits.
Game Two (W/15-6)
FDU jumped ahead early scoring four unearned runs in the top of the first inning to take a 4-0 lead.
Allison led off the bottom half of the inning with a solo home run and Kerr doubled home two more runs later in the inning to make it 4-3.
DeSales took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning including a two-RBI double from Kusters and a two-run home run from Scanlon.
Leading 8-5 in the bottom of the fourth, DSU put the game away with five runs, including a three-run home run from seniorÂ
Joe Grigas IV.
SeniorÂ
Will Manley earned the win tossing 2 2/3 innings allowing four hits and one run, striking out five.
Allison finished with three hits and four runs scored and Kusters had two hits, two runs scored and four RBIs. Scanlon added two hits, two RBIs, and three runs scored and Grigas finished with two hits, two runs scored, and three RBIs. Kerr had two hits and two RBIs, DeStaso added two more hits, and juniorÂ
Gavin Zavorski had two hits.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday when they open a three-game weekend set hosting Arcadia University beginning at 3:30 pm.
