Union, NJ (March 22, 2023) - The DeSales University softball team dropped both ends of a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at Kean University.
Game One (L/0-9)
The Cougars jumped out early in this one scoring four times in the first, twice in the second, and three times in the third to take a 9-0 lead and never looked back from there.
SophomoreÂ
Rachel Lowry took the loss lasting three innings, striking out four. The Bulldogs had just three hits in the loss.
Game Two (L/1-2 - 8 Innings)
After Kean took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Bulldogs tied the game in the fourth inning on an RBI single from sophomoreÂ
Tori Kenney.
The game remained tied into the eighth inning when the Cougars were able to push home the game winner on a sacrifice fly.
SeniorÂ
Kayleigh Ferraro had two hits in game two and juniorÂ
Alanna Hartzell pitched very well in the loss going 7 1/3 innings allowing just one earned run.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Lycoming College for a MAC Freedom doubleheader beginning at 1:00 pm.
