Center Valley, PA (March 26, 2023) - The DeSales University women's tennis team earned its first win of the season, 9-0, over Cedar Crest College in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon.
Doubles
The Bulldogs opened up a 3-0 lead sweeping the three doubles matches, losing just two games across the three matches. JuniorÂ
Morgan Landau and sophomoreÂ
Nyah Tomlinson earned an 8-2 win in the No. 1 spot, while sophomoreÂ
Alyssa Vandenberge and juniorÂ
Hope Hoppe won in the No. 2 slot and juniorÂ
Lindsay Shoemaker teamed with first-yearÂ
Tara Clark won in the No. 3 position.
Singles
DSU finished up the 9-0 sweep winning all six singles matches. Landau won 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 1 slot, Tomlinson earned a 6-2, 6-2 win in the No. 2 spot, and Vandenberge was a 6-4, 6-2 winner in the No. 3 spot.
Hoppe won 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 4 position, Shoemaker had a 6-0, 6-1 win in the fifth position, and Clark earned a 7-5, 6-3 win in the No. 6 hole.
The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday when they host PSU-Berks beginning at 3:30 pm.
