Softball Earns Two Eight-Run Wins on Day Two of Spring Trip

Myrtle Beach, SC (March 6, 2023) - The DeSales University softball team earned two eight-run wins on day two of its spring trip to Myrtle Beach, SC on Monday afternoon to improve to 4-0 on the season.

Game One (W/11-2 vs. Medaille)
DSU scored nine runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back from there in the win over Medaille. DeSales sent 13 players to the plate and had seven hits in the inning.

The Bulldogs added a run in the second and fourth before closing the game out in 4 1/2 innings.

Senior Victoria Agnoli went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs, senior Kayleigh Ferraro had two hits and three RBIs, first-year Camryn Coates and first-year Ava Goodman also each had two hits.

Junior Alanna Hartzell pitched a complete-game allowing just three hits and one earned run, striking out five.

Game Two (W/17-2 vs. Norwich)
DeSales was once again an offensive machine scoring five times in the first and third innings, while adding three runs in the second and four more in the fifth.

Senior Nicole Secara had two hits, Ferraro was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, sophomore Tori Kenney went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, senior Kylie Bryant had two runs scored and two RBIs, junior Alexys Vernier was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs, first-year Amy Wood had three hits and two RBIs, and senior Chloe Pauls was 3-for-3 with three RBIs.

Sophomore Rachel Lowry earned the win pitching two scoreless innings, striking out two.

The Bulldogs are off tomorrow and return to action on Wednesday when they take on William Peace University and Thiel College.
