Little River, SC (March 9, 2023) - The DeSales University softball team wrapped up its spring break trip to Myrtle Beach with a split of its final two games to finish the trip with a 7-1 overall record.
Game One (W/6-1 vs. Widener)
The Bulldogs fell behind 1-0 in the second inning but scored three times in the third and twice in the fourth to take a 5-1 lead before posting the final tally.
SeniorÂ
Victoria Agnoli finished the game 4-for-4 with two RBIs, while fellow seniorÂ
Nicole Secara had two hits and two runs scored. First-yearÂ
Amy Wood added two hits and sophomoreÂ
Abigail Rodriguez scored twice.
JuniorÂ
Alanna Hartzell earned the win in the circle tossing five strong innings allowing just one run, striking out three.
Game Two (L/5-9 vs. Eastern Nazarene College)
The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-RBI single from sophomoreÂ
Tori Kenney before ENC got three runs in the second inning to lead 3-2.
DSU scored solo runs in the third, fourth, and fifth innings to claim a 5-4 lead but Eastern Nazarene put up five runs in the sixth inning and the Bulldogs suffered their first loss of the season.
Kenney had three RBIs, while Secara, juniorÂ
Alexys Vernier, and seniorÂ
Kylie Bryant each had two hits.
First-yearÂ
Riley Long took the loss allowing four earned over 1 1/3 innings pitched.
The Bulldogs return home and don't return to action till Thursday, March 16th at Centenary University.
