Center Valley, PA (April 10, 2023) - The DeSales University baseball team stole nine bases and erased a 7-3 deficit en route to an 11-7 win over Ursinus College in non-conference action on Monday evening at Weiland Park.
DSU took a 3-0 lead in the first inning scoring three unearned runs. Ursinus got two back in the second ininng and scored five runs in the top of the fourth to take a 7-3 lead.
The Bulldogs chipped away scoring in each of the next four innings to claim an 11-7 lead and ultimately the win. SeniorÂ
Colin Trembley hit a solo home run in the fourth, first-yearÂ
Shane Anhalt had a two-run single in the fifth, and first-yearÂ
JT Anderosky knocked in two runs in the seventh inning.
The bullpen was terrific froom the middle of the fourth inning on allowing just three hits over the final 5 2/3 innings. JuniorÂ
Jared Drake earned the win pitching three scoreless.
Anderosky finished with three hits and two RBIs, first-yearÂ
John Rorick was 2-for-4 with three runs scored, and Trembley had two hits and two RBIs. Rorick stole three bases, first-yearÂ
Carson Allison stole one bag, seniorÂ
Joe Grigas IVÂ had two steals, and first-yearÂ
Andrew McGowan swiped three bags.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday when they travel cross town to take on local rival Moravian University at 4:00 pm.
