Wilkes-Barre, PA (April 14, 2023) - The DeSales University baseball team dropped the series opener at King's College on Friday afternoon falling 7-6 to the Monarchs in MAC Freedom action.
King's took a 4-0 lead with three runs in the first inning and another in the sixth inning before DeSales rallied.
DSU plated six runs in the top of the seventh inning taking advantage of two Monarch errors and four walks. First-yearÂ

Billy Scanlon all had RBI hits during the inning.
The Bulldogs led 6-4 after the rally but King's immediately tied the game with two runs in the bottom half of the inning took the lead for good taking advantage of two Bulldog errors in bottom of the eighth inning.
Scanlon finished with three and Rorick had two hits to lead the offensive attack. First-yearÂ
Michael Hooker pitched 5 1/3 innings allowing three earned runs.
These two teams will finish up the weekend series on Sunday hosting the Monarchs at Weiland Park beginning at 1:00 pm.
