Center Valley, PA (April 16, 2023) - Sophomore
Alex Chase tossed a two-hitter over 6 2/3 innings leading the DeSales University baseball team to a doubleheader split with King's College in MAC Freedom action on Sunday afternoon at Weiland Park.
Game One (W/3-0)
Chase allowed just two hits and one runner to reach third base to earn his third win of the season, striking out three and walking two. Fellow sophomore
Mike Romano got the final out to earn his third save of the season.
DSU got its first run of the game in the fourth on an RBI double from senior
Billy Scanlon and added two more in the fifth on a solo home run from sophomore
Justin DeStaso and RBI triple from first-year
JT Anderosky.
Anderosky had two hits in the game one win.
Game Two (L/1-2)
King's scored two runs in the top of the first inning and that lead held up for a 2-1 win.
DSU had bases loaded and one out in the third and were unable to score, Scanlon had a three-run home run robbed for out #3 in the fifth, and left the tying run at third base in the bottom of the seventh.
The Bulldogs scored its lone run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly from DeStaso.
Anderosky had two more hits as did fellow first-year
Carson Allison. Junior
Travis Kerr had three hits.
DeSales is back at it on Wednesday when they host local rival Muhlenberg College at Weiland Park beginning at 6:00 pm.
