Center Valley, PA (April 22, 2023) - The DeSales University baseball team clinched a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason sweeping a doubleheader with Delaware Valley University on Saturday afternoon at Weiland Park.
The Bulldogs qualify for the MAC Freedom postseason for the 23rd time and for the 13th straight season. DSU currently sits in fourth place with a three-game set with Stevens next weekend. DeSales has a chance to earn the three seed based on the results of its series with the Ducks next weekend.
Game One (W/15-3)
The Bulldogs took a 5-0 lead with runs in each of the first four innings that included an RBI single from juniorÂ
Travis Kerr, an RBI double from first-yearÂ
JT Anderosky, an an RBI single from first-yearÂ
Carson Allison.
DSU blew the game open in the sixth scoring 10 times to take a 15-0 lead and never looked back from there.
SeniorÂ
Joe Grigas IVÂ had a two-RBI single and two-RBI double, sophomoreÂ
Justin DeStaso had a bases clearing triple, first-yearÂ
John Rorick had an RBI single, and Andersky another RBI double in the 10-run sixth.
First-yearÂ
Mike Hooker earned the win pitching a complete-game allowing three runs and striking out five.
Anderosky had three hits, three runs scored, and two RBIs, Allison added three hits and three runs scored, seniorÂ
Billy Scanlon was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Grigas has two hits and four RBIs, DeStaso finished with three hits and three RBIs, and Rorick knocked in two runs in the game one win.
Game Two (W/11-5)
DSU completed the DH and weekend sweep erasing a 2-0 deficit in the bottom of the first inning with seven runs to take a 7-2 lead. SophomoreÂ
Gabe Diaz had an RBI single and Kerr blasted a grand slam home run in the inning. Rorick also had a two-RBI single.
The Aggies got within 7-5 but the Bulldogs scored twice in both the fourth and fifth innings thanks in part to a two-RBI single from Diaz.

Mike Romano earned the win pitching 3 1/3 scoreless innings allowing just one hit and striking out five.
Anderosky had another two hits, Diaz added two hits, two runs scored, and three RBIs, Allison had two hits and two runs, Kerr finished with three hits and four RBIs, and Rorick totaled two hits and two RBIs.
The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday when they host the University of Scranton beginning at 6:00 pm.
