Edwardsville, PA (April 22, 2023) - The DeSales University softball team scored two runs in the top of the seventh of game two to complete a doubleheader sweep at Wilkes University in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs now sit in fourth place with two conference doubleheaders remaining with FDU-Florham and Misericordia University.
Game One (W/4-2)
DSU took a 4-0 lead in this one scoring twice in both the second and third innings. SophomoreÂ
Abigail Rodriguez had a two-RBI single in the second inning and seniorÂ
Chloe Pauls had an RBI single in the third inning.

Rachel Lowry did the rest allowing just two runs over seven innings striking out four to earn her 11th win of the season.

Kylie Bryant each had two hits in the win.
Game Two (W/2-1)
DeSales trailed 1-0 entering the seventh when the Bulldogs took advantage of back-to-back Colonel errors to start the seventh inning as seniorÂ
Victoria Agnoli knocked in the tying run and Bryant hit a sacrifice fly to give DSU a 2-1 lead.
JuniorÂ
Alanna Hartzell finished off the win with a complete-game effort allowing just one run and three hits, while striking out three to earn her fifth win of the year.
Agnoli had two hits and Ferraro added two hits.
DSU is back in action on Wednesday when they host FDU-Florham in a very important MAC Freedom doubleheader beginning at 3:00 pm.
