Rachel Lowry fired a complete-game allowing just three hits and sophomore
Madison Kelly had two hits and three RBIs in game two helping the DeSales University softball team earn a DH split with local rival Muhlenberg College on Thursday evening.
Game One (L/2-13)
Muhlenberg was on fire at the plate scoring 13 runs on 19 hits in game one. MC took a 5-0 lead with five runs in the top of the second inning and never really looked back from there.
DSU had nine hits of its own but made five errors in the field and left eight runners on base in the loss.
Senior
Victoria Agnoli had three hits, while sophomore
Bella Arrigo added two hits.
Game Two (W/4-1)
DSU took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning in this one on a two-run blast from Kelly. The Bulldogs added to its lead in the third on an RBI single from senior
Kylie Bryant.
Muhlenberg got an unearned run in the top of the fifth inning to cut the margin down to 3-1 but got that run back in the bottom of the sixth inning on an RBI base hit from Kelly.
Lowry did the rest allowing just three Mule hits and only two runners to reach second base all game, punching out seven to earn her eighth win of the year.
Kelly finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Bryant was 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday when they host Neumann University in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 4:00 pm.
