Delanie Zohler totaled a match-high 12 kills and added 15 digs leading the DeSales University volleyball team past local rival Moravian University, 3-0, in non-conference action in Billera Hall on Wednesday evening.
DeSales fought off four set points in the opening set to come from behind and earn a 29-27 win on an ace and kills from junior
Mykenah Calder and junior
Samantha Worontzoff to finish off the first set.
The second set was almost exactly the same as the Greyhounds (2-3 overall) led the entire way and had three set points at 24-21 before the Bulldogs (2-6 overall) scored five straight points to take the set, 26-24. Sophomore
Peyton Porterfield had two kills near the end of the set to help cement the comeback.
The third set was all DeSales as they took the lead early and never let go winning 25-15.
The win is DSU's seventh staight in the series and 12th in the last 13 meetings as the Bulldogs are now 23-25 all-time vs. the Greyhounds.
Zohler finished with her second double-double of the year totaling 12 kills and 15 digs.
Senior
Paige Lewis had seven kills and two blocks and Worontzoff finished with three blocks and five kills.
Calder had 15 digs, senior
Emma Notarfrancesco finished with 13 digs, and senior
Alyson Maddalone had 10 digs and three aces.
Senior
Grace Grandinetti totaled 12 assists and 10 digs and Porterfield added 11 assists and three blocks.
The Bulldogs are off this weekend and return to action next Wednesday hosting King's College in the MAC Freedom opener beginning at 7:00 pm.
