York, PA (September 20, 2023) - The DeSales University women's soccer team early lead not enough as they fall to York 3-1 in non-conference action on Wednesday evening.

How it Happened

• DSU scored first in this one when junior Tori Harnett scored on a PK in the 20th minute.
• The Spartans tied the game up just before the half as a goal came off the foot of Alyssa Russell in the 43rd minute. 
• York came out strong to start the second half as they scored in the 51st minute after Morgan Joyce gave the Spartans the lead, 2-1.
• Abby Brown added an insurance goal and the final tally for the Spartans in the 66th minute and held the Bulldogs scoreless in the second half.

• Harnett scored her team-leading second goal of the season.
• Junior Jozlyn Minnema had four saves in goal.

For the Foes

• Alyssa Russell, Morgan Joyce, and Abby Brown had the goals for the Spartans.
• Teresa Gonzalez had seven saves in goal and recorded the win.
