Dallas, PA (October 1, 2024) - The DeSales University volleyball team stayed unbeaten in the MAC Freedom after a thrilling five-set win at Misericordia University on Tuesday evening.
Misericordia (13-4, 0-2 MAC Freedom) opened the match with a 25-21 win in the first set scoring five of the last six points after the set was tied at 20. DSU rebounded in a back-and-forth second set that saw the Cougars take an early lead, the Bulldogs rally in the middle of the set, and DeSales rallying late to win 28-26.
DeSales took a 2-1 lead with a 25-20 win in the third set and MU tied the match at two with a 25-14 fourth set win.
In the fifth set DeSales took control early with four straight points to take a 4-1 lead. That lead swelled to five (13-8) late before the Cougars scored five of the next six points to pull within 14-13 before a kill from first-yearÂ
Brooke Signorella closed the match for the Bulldogs.
Signorella led DeSales with a team-high 13 kills and added eight digs. First-yearÂ
Allison Reimer added nine kills, hitting .222, and had 10 digs. SeniorÂ
Paige Lewis finished with 8 kills, hitting .444. SeniorÂ
Samantha Worontzoff led the way with four blocks.

DSU is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Rowan University for a tri-match with Maritime College.
